Day 147, vrooom, it's F1 time again

A tour of an F1 factory?  Yes, let's go.

Ok, this is from October 2002, not exactly current spec.

In fact it's from so long ago that the Renault F1 team have been gone from F1 for quite a while, and are now poised to make a comeback.  Perhaps.  Maybe.  That's F1, as Murray would say "anything can happen, and it usually does."

Oh hang on, there's quite a lot of stuff they won't let you take photos of.

Creating components from plastics and nylon, 3D printing of a sort.  Nope, can't see that.

A steering wheel with all the groovy dials and buttons, very heavy, wow.  Nope, can't see that.

The wind tunnel.  Nope, can't see that, not due to secrecy but due to low light and no flash...

One of Jarno Trulli's cars which had suffered some damage earlier in the season.  Nope, can't see that.

So what do we have?  A car, that's pretty much it.

If you squint you'll see the names of the drivers.  To save effort it says:

F. Alonso
J. Button
J. Trulli

A couple of those names share the same team now.  Poor McLaren, bottom of the timing sheet today.  Alonso went on to greater things than being purely the Renault F1 test driver.  The number 15 was Button's car.

Oh no, not just a picture of a sign and a car, but a transporter truck as well.

I can't remember anything about the IT seminar that was the real purpose of the visit.
