Day 139, cat on post

The ludicrous neighbour-cat was hiding in plain site getting excited by some birdlife completely out of reach.  He has no chance of creeping up on any creature, given his size and colour he is visible from space.

He didn't notice me putting out the compost until I was well in his field of view, at which point he decided to say hello.  He jumped on to a trellis post.  Which is where he then got stuck.  What an enormous great fool.

Another neighbour-cat, a very elderly lady, can jump on and off the trellis post back and forward between the shed and it with ease.  She generally treats him with disdain when she sees him.  She'll give him a look, a hiss, and a paw wave, and even though he is four times her size and at least a fifth of her age he skulks off with his tail between his legs.

Eventually he clumsily clambered down the trellis face first, using it like a ladder.  At which point he got a tickle on the head, made a squeak, then attempted to follow me inside.  He was left lingering on the doorstep.
