Day 547, Ebenezer Elliott's Steep View

One of the steepest streets in Sheffield, Blake Street.

Across from the bottom of Blake Street is the former residence of Ebenezer Elliott 'the corn law rhymer'.

The pair of chimneys on the top of the Georgian building popping up in the foreground, that's the place.

Obviously if I had a better picture available it would be here.

If Ebeneezer had taken a glance out of one of his many back windows he'd be looking up that hill.

History doesn't record what impact that may have had on his rhyming.

Maybe he only ever looked out of the front.
