Day 137, say what you mean, mean what you say

I turned up and did a radio amateur exam once, admittedly it wasn’t the full schmozzle, I passed it.

Never at any point have I owned a proper ham radio.  It occurred to me to do the further exams and pass the full morse code malarky bit.  That is actually the technical term for it amongst ‘hams’, i.e. pork-like radio operators, not over-actors.

Here’s a sample of some morse I’ve just made up off the top of my head.

- .... . .-. . / .- .-. . / -.- -. --- .-- -. / -.- -. --- .-- -. ... .-.-.- / - .... . ... . / .- .-. . / - .... .. -. --. ... / .-- . / -.- -. --- .-- / - .... .- - / .-- . / -.- -. --- .-- .-.-.- / - .... . .-. . / .- .-. . / -.- -. --- .-- -. / ..- -. -.- -. --- .-- -. ... .-.-.- / - .... .- - / .. ... / - --- / ... .- -.-- --..-- / - .... . .-. . / .- .-. . / - .... .. -. --. ... / - .... .- - / .-- . / -.- -. --- .-- / .-- . / -.. --- -. .----. - / -.- -. --- .-- .-.-.- / -... ..- - / - .... . .-. . / .- .-. . / .- .-.. ... --- / ..- -. -.- -. --- .-- -. / ..- -. -.- -. --- .-- -. ... .-.-.- / - .... . .-. . / .- .-. . / - .... .. -. --. ... / .-- . / -.. --- -. .----. - / -.- -. --- .-- / .-- . / -.. --- -. .----. - / -.- -. --- .-- .-.-.-

Ok, ok, I lied.  Someone else made it up, this is the actual text.

There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.

It was that Rumsfeld chap, he's the one. Whatever else you might think of him the phrase there makes perfect sense and cannot be denied.

For proof of the correctitude of the above code try translating and playing it back through here.
