Day 552, Drowning not waving


Creaky old boots need gentle treatment to get them back up to speed.

So why not, after smearing on some saddle soap,* go for a swim.

You'll find it's a good, full-body workout, and develops aerobic capacity as well as strength.

With the right technique some of us old boots can glide through the water much faster than those much younger.**

Assuming you know which stroke you are best at...***

And it does wonders for your ability to pick up verrucas.


* Are you sure about this part? - Ed.
** Most people aren't taught to swim with even a fraction of the efficiency they could achieve with slight improvement to technique.
*** My breast stroke is faster than most can swim front crawl, my front crawl however is slower than a three legged tortoise in a queue for the bar.
